Loving Myself!

Girls Talk

Notice the new GT badge? Well, girls talk has moved and is now under a new management. LOL. The founder and previous hostess Niko couldn't handle it anymore because of her hectic schedule and was about to give it up actually but gladly, because of the girls' voices to let the meme continue, girl power prevailed and so girls talk will still be up and running. Great! Thanks to the new hostess, Queen Gene. (",)

Us girls will be talking about ourselves for this whole month of July. First off, physical aspect. So, let me get started.

I don't want to sound bragging but what people first notice in me, as they say, is my pretty face. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, right so I believe them. Hee hee. I also like my legs because even though they are short but they are flawless. I'm skinny so I don't consider myself sexy but my fiance' told me that I am. That's how much he loves me. Haha!

It's Cool to Be Square

Whenever 11 o’clock in the morning strikes, I see to it that the television is on because that’s the time that my favorite game show, Hollywood Squares, is shown. I like the show a lot. It’s really entertaining in the sense that we get to see not just the funny sides of Hollywood celebrities but their intellectual capabilities too. And not to mention the pricey prizes that they give away. Oh boy! Simply awesome!

They had Alec Baldwin as guest yesterday and the guy’s so smart as well as funny. He was asked one question but I didn’t really catch the whole sentence. All I remember was the Gulf Coast Jones Act as part of the question and he replied with an off-the-wall, kooky answer about an apparently serious topic, looking so serious, only to find out that he was pulling their leg. It was hilarious! I look forward to another episode tomorrow. (“,)

Music Monday: This Kiss by Faith Hill

Faith Hill is one of my favorite female artists, and I love this song of hers - its rhythm or tune is really nice, very danceable. And check the lyrics, simply perfect for my BA. (",)

I don’t want another heartbreak
I don’t need another turn to cry
I don’t want to learn the hard way
Baby, hello, oh, no, goodbye
But you got me like a rocket
Shooting straight across the sky

It’s the way you love me
It’s a feeling like this
It’s centrifugal motion
It’s perpetual bliss

It’s that pivotal moment
It’s impossible
This kiss, this kiss (Unstoppable)
This kiss, this kiss

Little Girls: A Gift From God

One of the many things that I enjoy doing on Facebook is browsing the photos of my friend’s kid’s pictures, most especially those cutie little girls. I have two pretty girls that I like looking at the most: my friend Madz’ 1-year-old Sophie and my friend Michelle’s 1-year-old Claira. The girls are beautiful, both a mix of Filipina moms and Caucasian dads.

Having a daughter has been one of my wishes. And not only me but my 7-year-old son, Yogi; too; he wants a cutie li'l sister. I still don’t know if that wish of mine will be granted, but we’ll see about that and if it happens, then you will know for sure because I will be distributing birth announcements to all as well as filling my Facebook page with photos. The Game of Politics; 'Tis the Same All Over the World

It always is relaxing to read a good book during your free time. Aside from gaining additional knowledge, it also sharpens your mind – food for thought, as is said. And as my fiancĂ© likes to say, the brain is a muscle that needs constant exercise, which he accomplishes with his constant reading being the bookworm that he is. I've ran out of books to read but some are coming soon because my fiancĂ© will be sharing some with me which he describes as good-read books.

But when was the last time you’ve read a book that focuses on politics? I must say my ideas on politics are somewhat conservative but nevertheless, I find books about the facets and ideoligies of politics interesting, especially the book Beating the Odds that covers several important issues Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo herself faced as she took over leadership not only in a new century, but a new millennium as well. Authored by Renato S. Velasco and Ricardo L. Saludo, it talks about her leadership abilities and how she faced challenging issues during her term and the actions she took in dealing with those issues. Being a President is not an easy task, especially in governing a country that is in crisis.

The Mindanao Peace Process which can be considered one of the more difficult issues the president had to face is talked about in the book. Terrorism in Mindanao (my home island) which is known all over the world in this age of insurgency has affected the entire country’s credibility, thus it is one among the many challenging issues the President had to face.

And the Philippines, being considered a third world country, has an ongoing economic crisis. And the budget deficit was among the many problems the President had to face during her tenure.

Summing up, a President alone cannot solve all of these issues alone without the support of her people and government colleagues, yet she’s been bombarded with criticisms and doubts, and maybe all should know their leaders better, and how the process works before casting stones of doubt. Read this book and see what she has done for our country and understand the difficulty of being in her shoes, shoes she will be passing on in a few days time to our new President-Elect.

Be Reactive By Using Proactiv!

Modesty aside, I consider myself one of the luckiest women among my peers. You want to know why? That’s because I don’t and have never had acne, nor do I have pimples on a regular basis so I don't have to deal with it every single day of my life like some other individuals. But I’m not perfect: I do get a few pimples whenever I have my monthly period. But that's normal; nature doing its thing due to the hormonal changes that we women go through during that time. But actually, nowadays, having acne can be considered no big deal at all because of the high technology and advanced processes that we have that really offers state-of-the-art treatments that helps gets rid of skin problems affecting not just women but men as well, and not just grown adults but even young adults and kids too.

There are numerous beauty products on the market today claiming they offer the best treatment anyone would want to have. But we do know not all offers the best quality as claimed and that’s something that we have to be aware and wary of. One thing to consider in choosing the best treatment for acne for example is choosing an established name and everything will fall into place. Having an established name guarantees you of a safe and quality made product and one product that undoubtedly possesses this criteria is Proactiv. This actually has been the choice of popular Hollywood celebrities like Mandy Moore, Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt and more. That alone can attest to the fact how effective Proactiv is – making it the world’s number one acne solution.

To my surprise, Proactiv is now available in the Philippines and for sure, that will make Filipinas delighted because it’s now within reach. They can buy Proactiv online which is very convenient and have their acne gone forever – a quality that differentiates Proactiv from the rest because it not only treats acne and pimples but makes it disappear forever. Simply great! Want to try Proactiv? Then do it now and make use of the discount coupon that is valid until August 31 only. Check the coupon codes below:

My Wallet and What's Inside It

If I'm not mistaken, I've been using this wallet for like two years now. It's my Christmas gift for myself and it's filled with IDs, credit cards, pictures and not to forget the business cards and money in the inside pockets. Bills only though for I put the coins in my coin purse.

My Pony wallet

IDs on the left side and credit cards on the right with my ATM card and my SM card. And of course, pictures of me and my son, Yogi. He was only 2 years old on the left photo and already 6 years old on the right. My wallet is not a wallet without 'em. (",)

Music Monday: The First Time I Loved Forever by Lisa Angelle

It was surprising and amusing when I saw what my cousin sent me in my inbox yesterday - this video because she thinks this song perfectly fits me and my fiance'. That is so sweet of her. She did make a good choice and she's right, it speaks so much of us. Am I beginning to get cheesy now? Hehe. I so love this song and I like "Beauty and the Best" too but I never thought of the song until yesterday. Thanks to my cousin! (",)

He Can Be My Prince (",)

I told my fiancĂ© yesterday how good the movie "Prince of Persia" was and he was like, "Really?" At the time I told him he was checking a lipozene review for me which led him to tell me that he had read a not so good review of the said movie. Well, what else is new? Critics abound and they will say what they want to say. And I don’t really rely on those reviews for each and every one of us has different perspectives on everything. As is so often said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, or one man's trash is another man's treasure.

For me it was a great movie and I give it two thumbs up! I was not a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal until I saw this movie. It was totally entertaining. See it for yourself if you want to know what I’m talking about. It may not be to your liking, and if it’s not, then one thing is certain: we have different tastes. (“,)

What A Fine Bod He Has! (",)

My son and I were supposed to watch "Shrek Forever After" in 3D yesterday but we ended up watching "Prince of Persia" instead. It was around 3 o’clock in the afternoon when we got to the cinemas and, unfortunately, Shrek’s first showing was at 4:50 p.m. We couldn’t wait that long since we were going to a party at 5 o’clock, but we didn’t regret our choice of movie at all for it was worth every penny.

The movie is really great! I like the effects they did and the actor Jake Gyllenhaal did a masterful performance, not to mention that he really is good looking and has an awesome bod. I know getting into that kind of shape takes a lot of hard work but it’s worth it, no doubt, because he really looks awesome. I do wonder if he has some special favorite exercise equipment that he uses like a dip station perhaps?

Have you seen the movie yourself? You shouldn't miss it, trust me!

Vanity Kit Revealed

That's my red Victoria Secret pout cosmetic bag right at the left and the goodies you see are what's inside it. That bag is a little bit small that my perfume won't fit in it so you will see my perfume when I am going to reveal the things inside my bag and that would be soon. Vanity kit first this time!

Paganini Mirror, Avon Moisture Therapy Lip Balm, Avon Apricot Lipstick, Cleene Dental Floss, Johnson's Baby Powder, Visine Eye Drops, Astring-O-Sol Concentrated Mouthwash, Babyflo Petroleum Jelly and Avon Feelin' Fresh Deodorant.

I don't wear make-up at all. A dash of lip gloss or lip balm and lipstick is already fine with me. And with the kind of weather that we have, I always get chapped lips and that's when petroleum jelly gets to the rescue. I don't use pressed powder because I get pimples so, talc powder is what I used for my face and as you can see, it has my son's name in it. It's what he brings in school but since he wasn't able to use them all so I took it from him during the summer.

And there's my dental floss to make sure I don't have anything embarrassing between my teeth after a snack or a meal somewhere. I don't use the mouthwash whenever I eat out though. I just put it there just in case it will be needed at any given time and the same goes with the deo.

I've just included the Visine a few months ago after I suffered from itchy and watery eyes. My eyes are okay now but the eye drops remained in my kit - just in case. (",)

My Shower Loot

In this month's theme, we will be revealing what's inside our bag, wallet, vanity kit and we will be exposing our shower loot too. The last one being the topic for this week, the picture below shows my shower loot.

I've always been a Pantene girl when it comes to my shampoo (free advertisement there! LOL), and I've always preferred the anti-dandruff. Then my hair's pampering isn't complete without my Cream Silk conditioner. I usually buy the one in tube but I ran out of it since a few days ago and whenever that happens, I would just run to the nearby sari-sari store and buy me some in sachets.

For the body, more often than not, I just use the Silka Papaya soap and it's what I use on my face too. I only use my Tommy Girl and Dolce & Gabbana body washes when I have important occasions to go (Sayang eh! Hehe!). Both are gifts from my cousin and a good friend respectively. And last but not the least, my feminine wash. My shower isn't complete without it and it has always been Lactacyd. (",)
