Let the Good Times Roll With Ezy Roller!

I was at the mall with a friend yesterday when it dawned upon me that in only two more months it will be my son’s birthday once again. He’s turning seven and just thinking about it makes me realize how time flies so fast, and before I know it, he'll be a full-grown young man.

I browsed the toy section at the mall yesterday for a gift that would fit his little-boy persona. I know he likes toy cars and robots but he already has lots of those kinds of toys. I want to give him something different this time since he’s no longer a toddler but a little young man. My friend suggested an electronic gadget but with its cost, I felt that it was way too expensive for even a little young man because boys will be boys, and toys and gadgets have a way of getting busted. Knowing that he can be careless when it comes to his toys, I don’t think it would be practical to give him such a gadget this early. The time will come, though, when he realizes the worth of things and how hard I work to provide for him.

We kept on looking at the toy section until I remembered what my godson got from his mom last Christmas. He got an Ezy Roller and I believe my son would really love it. He’s very hyperactive and loves to ride on all the different rides at the mall. It would be the perfect gift for him! And maybe I can add something a bit more personal such as personalized pillowcases with his name on them, or perhaps his photo, with a nap mat to match. And I know now is the time to get him something like that before he does get bigger and think such things too silly and sissy for a boy. Maybe with a new nap mat, he will choose to have his afternoon nap instead of concentrating on playing his computer games. Yeah; maybe. Oh well; dream on, Mom. As I said, boys will be boys.

But just thinking about these gift ideas for my son’s upcoming birthday is making me giddy with excitement. I can’t wait until it happens and see the look on his face and in his eyes when I hand them to him personally.
