The Best of Entertainment and News in the Philippines

I don’t consider myself a couch potato but I must admit I do have my favorite channel among the local Filipino channels that we have and that’s ABS-CBN. Known as the “Kapamilya” network, a tag which means one family, the Philippines’ biggest network is owned by a popular family of businessmen here – the Lopez Family. A lot of people look up to them because they’ve made many Filipino’s life different and it’s not just because of the entertainment that they provide on television but also because of the charitable works that they do through their foundation helping those who are badly in need of help, be it because of catastrophe, crime or a problem that is simply brought on in the day-to-day course of living.

They have been of great help to the Philippines' educational system too and the Knowledge Channel and Department of Education renew basic education tools development partnership is an example of their wonderful philanthropic work. Their website - LopezLink.com.ph - provides information on their great efforts. Be it about the network, the activities that they are into, special features that benefit everybody, the latest business news and current events, news about their stars, and many more fascinating details; it‘s all there. The LopezLink 2009 Year End Report can also be viewed there.

In addition, the site provides a forum, something that I really find interesting since interacting with people is one thing that I like doing. I actually responded to one of the threads which ask your opinion on this subject: Golf: a sport or not? You may want to check the site yourself and join in on the discussions.

Here's another one of my all time favorite Christmas Songs. I love this song a lot not to mention this song was created for a cause making it one of the biggest Christmas song hits of all time. I bet I'm not the only one who like this song. Anyway, four more days to go and it's Christmas already!

Holiday Shopping for the Little One

Aside from special occasions, Christmas is the time of the year wherein kids get to have new clothes or a new pair of shoes, etc. It can be considered a tradition for some already and I do wonder when or where it originated.

Anyhow, below are the things that I shopped for my son, Yogi. A pair of pants, a shirt and a polo shirt. All came from one brand - Garfield. He wore the pink polo shirt and new pants on their Christmas Party at school last Friday, the 18th. He's going to wear the striped shirt on Christmas Eve. I haven't bought him a new pair of shoes since I just bought him one a month ago.

I also bought him a wrist watch - the blue on the right. Mine is on the left. I wasn't planning of buying one for myself since I still got two wrist watches but I liked what I saw in this one so I bought it too. Nice, huh? (",)

Convenient and hassle-free are just some of the reasons why more and more people are making use of online shopping, and I am not an exception. Aside from saving time and energy, you get to save money too since great deals are also offered online, not to mention you can also compare prices by just having your fingers do all the work.

I've been singing and sometimes humming this song lately since the day I heard it being sang in a local variety show on television. I'm "Glooed" To My Computer

I must admit, I’m one of those individuals who are so into networking sites like facebook, twitter, plurk, et cetera, and I find it fun interacting with people and being updated about my friends’ lives who are now living all over the world. I get to meet new friends too and I know I’m not the only one who finds such really fun and exciting.

But have you tried having an online scrapbook where you will also get to share your photos, your favorite videos, write about anything or even doodle about things you like on a canvas in real time? Let me tell you what: that’s what Gloo is all about, the newest offering from Globe Broadband. I just learned about it recently and I really found it interesting. It’s a collaboration board I can use to post upcoming events with my friends and colleagues or anything else that I want to write about. I actually created an account the minute I heard about it and invited my friends right away. I've already uploaded my photo, and put up some widgets which are really cute and so easy to manage. This is definitely fun, fun, fun, for sure!
