Just like any dutiful car owner, you want to keep your car looking and performing fabulously great. Follow this guide to ensure that your most prized investment looks good as new - even five years down the road.
Twice A Week. Be extra attentive when it comes to zeroing in on your car's parts, such as windscreen, wiper blades, engine oil, tires, brakes, power steering, and lights. Make sure the windscreen is clean and the wiper blades are fully functional. Check if the tires are inflated properly. Inspect the headlamps, signal lights, and brakes - all of them should be squeaky-clean and in good condition.
Once A Week. Wash your car with high-quality car-care products. Park your car in the shade upon washing since sunlight can cause residue and streaks. Washing by hand is still advisable, but go for -car-wash services that use high pressure water at least once a month. Keep the interiors of your car clean: Vacuum the upholstery, and use a damp cloth to wipe hard surfaces like the dashboard. Check you engine oil every once a week, too. Here's how: Take out the dipstick, wipe it, and reinsert it again to check the oil level. Make sure your tires have the ideal air pressure level as well.
Every Six Months. To maintain the sheen and protect the paint of your car, wax your car with a topnotch non-abrasive wax. Before waxing the entire body, test it on a small area of the car first. Then, wax one section at a time and allow it to haze for a minute or two. Make it even shinier by wiping with a clean towel. Don't have the time? Just bring your car to the car-service company and ask a qualified mechanic to take care of the waxing.
