Relax In Style

Having a modern and elegant, yet affordable, sofa is one of the many things I wish to have in my bedroom. I don’t have bedroom large enough to hold a big sofa. But a small sofa would be perfect, just the thing where I could sit during my reading time.

I often check for SOFAS on the net and in magazines where celebrity homes are being featured, and those sofas never fail to put me in awe. Those sofas are most likely designer sofas since they are so awesome. Well, they can afford it, so why not? But maybe I can afford one, too, and the first place I’ll check is Spacify.com.

Wish i can create a layout like this too so i'll have the opportunity to change the layouts of my blogs myself and give it a new look every month. That would really be fun. Hehe.

Anyways, if you wanted to see the actual layout, feel free to visit my niece's blog - A Day in the Life of Mawee. (",)

A Chance To Shop ‘Til Ya Drop!

Shopping ‘til you drop is perhaps what every woman wishes to do, but we do know that not all can afford to do so, and that includes me, unfortunately. I will just enjoy myself shopping for things I can afford and a lot of window shopping in between. That can be fun. But guess what? I just found out that AMIClubwear is having this contest where there’s a chance to win a gift certificate worth $300 from them. Wow! That would be enough to enjoy many things at AMIClubwear.

And yes, AMIClubwear is now on YouTube. Several videos are now up for us to check the latest. I’ve checked some of them and it’s really fun watching those women doing the shopping; to be honest, it really made me envious….LOL. I’ve actually included a video here for you to take a look. You’ll have fun watching like I did, for sure.

So c’mon ladies, check out the official contest rules now and let’s all have our chance at winning that awesome $300 gift certificate. Best of luck to all of us!

Three-Step Pedicure

Get your toes fetish-worthy with these easy moves.

1) Cut your nails straight across with toenail clippers. Then, file them from the outside to the center in one direction, for a smooth perfect finish.

2) Massage a cuticle oil on your toes, then soak feet in a bowl mixed with warm water and a teaspoon of olive oil for three minutes. Pat feet dry, then trim any hangnails with a nipper.

3) Brush a basecoat on your nails, followed by two layers of your face polish, then a topcoat. Tip: For faster drying time, wait for each layer to dry before applying another coat of polish.

Ride In Style, Economically

Early last week I overheard my brother while he was talking to his friend. He is planning on getting himself a new car; He’s in bad need of one. His work schedule calls for going home in the wee hours of the morning, and not having his own car makes the situation a little bit hard for him. And seeing that He is a nurse, we all know how their schedule shifts from time to time. His plan got me giddy instantly. Since we’re living in the same house, I’ll get to ride in his car too. But I tried not to sound too excited when I asked him what brand of car he is going to get. He is still in the process of weighing things, but he has decided on one important thing: he’s going to buy a used car. The fact that new cars can be costly made that decision a simple one for him. My brother is being realistic.

With the state of economy that we have now, practicality, as well as frugality, is the best thing to consider when it comes to making major purchases. A lot of the people I know have settled for a used car. A used car doesn’t mean a low quality vehicle, but for sure you have to consider its background. And if you want a used car that is proven to be still of high quality and performance, then I suggest you go check out CarShop.co.uk. Selling used cars is what they specialize in. And they guarantee the lowest price available in the market today. It is perhaps the best choice for anyone, which includes my brother, whose main goal is to get an affordable, yet high quality second hand car. I can hardly wait for him to take me on that first spin around the block in his new set of wheels!

dNeero: Hair, Beautiful Hair!

Always referred to as our crowning glory, how often do you go to the parlor to have it fixed? Or have it dyed perhaps? I had my hair cut once every three months and dye it once every six months. I don't have gray hair but i just like it dyed into any brown color like copper brown or hazel brown. Depends on what's available. The last time i dyed it was last month. How about you? Do you go for dye or not?

Music Monday: Angel by Sarah Mclachlan

And here's my last entry for my so-called "Angel" month of May. Save the best for last, huh? Yep, i consider this the best among the songs that i had chosen that has an "angel" word on it's title. This song is memorable for me in a lot of ways. And its soulful tune and wonderful lyrics made it one of my favorite songs of all time. Sarah Mclachlan is such an amazing artist and this song is the very first song that led me to discover the magnificent voice that she has which made her one of my favorite artists. Happy Music Monday everyone!

How To Do Facial At Home

Make your face supple again with these simple spa tricks - all you need is about 15 minutes.

1) Soak a washcloth in very warm water, and place it over your face for a minute. Repeat three times - the steam will help soften your skin.

2) Slough off dead skin using a mild scrub. Avoid exfoliants with big grains, which can lead to irritation. Rub with a circular motion for a minute, then rinse off.

3) Slather on a DIY mask (see recipe below) or a store-bought one packed with antioxidants like vitamin E. Wait three to five minutes before wiping or rinsing off.

4) Work your moisturizer into your face and neck to lock in hydration. Keep your moisturizer chilled in the fridge, so it's more refreshing to use.

5) Dab a relaxing essential oil (like lavender) onto your pulse points (wrists and behind your ears) to help you stay calm.

Moisture Surge: (Mask Recipe)
Blend three tablespoons of dry oatmeal with two tablespoons of honey, then apply to skin for five minutes for a sweet, super hydrating mask.

Recent Purchases

From where else but eBay. I've had quite a lot of purchases already and i can't actually remember how many batches are there anymore. I'd better check and keep myself updated. LOL.

Anyway, the rainy season has started here in our part of the world so i thought of getting myself two new jackets since i don't have one. I do have sweat shirts but they're all worn out now. I also got myself a new mustard yellow blouse and three bags - all of which were sold in such a cheap price. Lucky me! Hee Hee!

Music Monday: Angels by Robbie Williams

I fell in love with this song instantly the first time i've heard it. This is the only song that i like among Robbie's songs, and when it became a hit in the 90s, i had it recorded and listened to it over and over again. Sad to say, the video here was no longer available. But if you like to listen to it, you may check this LINK.

David Cook on Eat Bulaga

I was blog hopping yesterday when i heard this awesome voice coming from the TV from my parent's bedroom. My niece was watching Eat Bulaga (Philippines' noontime variety show), so i asked her from where i was sitting if who was singing. When she told me it was David Cook, i ran to the bedroom at once. He sang his version of Mariah Carey's, "You'll always be my Baby". I like his version a lot. His voice was very manly and the girls watching on the studio were screaming to the top of their lungs. Well, i can't blame them for he's not only a good singer but very good looking as well. (",)

I haven't had the chance to watch any of his performance on American Idol for some reasons but i did hear about him a lot. And yesterday was actually my first time to see him performed. Wow! No wonder he got the title. (",)

Electronic Needs At The Tip Of Your Fingers

Electronics is one of the many things that my late husband was so into. He took a course for it and was able to apply what he had learned a lot of times. It was beneficial for many reasons, such as we didn’t have to look for or ask the help of anyone when it came to electronic problems around the home. And being the electronic enthusiast that he was, he always made it a point to use certain brands of electronic components, ones which he was sure of the quality. One company that can surely be recommended for such quality products is without a doubt 1SourceComponents.com – an Electronic Component Distributor that provides products that have proven to be of high quality. I know that because it’s what I always heard from him.

In addition, the company not only offers electronic components but they also offer services for contract manufacturing, engineering, product design, prototyping, and much more. So, if for your business, or just for that on-the- blink TV or computer at home, give them a visit.

Music Monday: Angels Brought Me Here by Carrie Underwood

I had Angel of Mine by Eternal as my entry last week and after contemplating for almost the entire week, i've decided that my entries for the whole month of May will have the word "Angel" in the title for one simple reason - I feel so greatly blessed with having a Big Angel and my Li'l Cherub in my life. Cheesy? Hee hee.

I love this song by Carrie Underwood. This song is actually my cellphone's ring tone though i have the version of Guy Sebastian. But i chose this version of Carrie here to convey the message of the song as coming from a girl to a guy who she considers as her Angel. *wink*

Flowers For Granny on Mother's Day

These three roses here are for my Mom and it came from my three nephews whom we call us the three kings. LOL. They went here this morning to give their beloved granny these roses plus a kiss on the cheek. Isn't that sweet? After my son Yogi saw it, he was like... "I want to give mama (what he calls his granny) a rose too." I just told him that we'll just buy one later in the afternoon. I totally forgot about it. Hehe.

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!

Our Li'l Business

When Karen's (my soon to be sis-in-law) family arrived from New Jersey last month, they brought along with them a lot of Victoria's Secret stuff, some of which are shown in the picture above. We've already talked before about selling such stuff and make it our little business, and so when Karen already got the chance to bring those stuff here at home, my sis Eve instantly brought them to their office and she already sold a lot of them. I haven't sold one just yet 'coz she handed me the remaining items just today. Will probably bring them to my friends tomorrow or better yet Monday since i'll be busy tomorrow here at our home office.

Anyways, you want to get one? Just let me know. Prices are very reasonable to suit anyone's budget. LOL. We have here...Perfumes, Beauty Rush, Body Mist, Lotions and Body Wash. Take your pick and contact me anytime. (",)

Dresses Light On Your Wallet, As Well As On You

Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! What could be more exciting than that for us women? It’s definitely our weakness, without a doubt. And I must admit that I’ve been hooked on browsing the net recently for some clothes that I could wear to the next important occasion that I will be attending, which will be my brother’s wedding. It is going to be soon, and I need to grab a dress that not only fits the occasion, but my personality as well.

The wedding will be a summer event, so I think a light and breezy summer dress would be the best outfit to choose. And as I was searching for a summer dress on one of the search engines, I came across amiclubwear.com. Wow! The site offers a wide selection of awesome summer dresses and I was really fascinated with what I saw. They are very sexy and elegant. Some are even quite a little daring, but still very nice and in good taste. I was eyeing this Fuchsia Japanese Lily Kimono Dress. I really like it – very sexy, colorful and elegant. Don’t you think so? I’ve included a photo of it so you’ll have an idea how lovely it is. And it’s very affordable, too. Perfect! Can’t wait to have it!

War of the Worlds

Tomorrow is the night when the so-called East versus West conquers the world. Boxing fanatics won't miss the event for sure most especially the legion of fans that our city's pride Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao has all over the world. Manny will again showcase his skills in boxing and i do believe he'll win this one again. I'm not really a boxing fanatic but i do watch if it's Manny on the ring. Yes, only him. But more often than not, i already knew who the victor was even before i watch the game. That's because i only watch the delayed telecast on our local TV. There are establishments who offer live telecast for a reasonable fee but i'm just not into it.

Mom called the cable company earlier to avail the payperview but unfortunately they already have no slots available. Mom could have made reservations a week or so ago but it is only today too that Dad thought about it. Oh well, i think they just have to watch somewhere where a live telecast will be aired.

Good luck, Pacman!!!
