A Budget Bride's Best Bet

I've been thinking of my brother and his fiancĂ©’s wedding which is set late next year and it seems such a long time to wait. But my sister-in-law-to-be, Karen, started her preparations the day after they got engaged. Time flies so fast after all, and before we know it, the magic day will be here. She’s been searching for ideas and asking for advice from family and friends. I gave her ideas myself since I’ve been there and done that. Her mind’s already set on some aspects like the motif and wedding invitations but she still has to research the rest. She still has several months to do it, but then again, she’s not letting a day go by without getting ideas, especially for the wardrobe of the entourage.

A wedding requires detailed planning and serious preparation since it only happens once in a couple’s life, not to mention it being the most special event of all for them both. That is why Karen is scrutinizing every detail of the wardrobe. Just like any other bride, she wants the best but she’s trying to be frugal and get the best for less. More aptly said, she is a bride on a budget. My brother and she can have the grandest of weddings but they’re being practical which is the right thing to do nowadays. Besides, you can have quality at a reasonable price. Being resourceful is the key to it all.

She always tells me whenever she gets new ideas, especially about the cheap wedding invitations she got. She got what she wanted at a very reasonable price which really delighted her. That’s good news for me too. I did tell her that for as long as it is what she likes, then go for it. I did like her choice, too; very elegant and unique.

I really can’t wait for their wedding day. And even much more so, my brother Erwin and Karen can hardly wait!

Congratulations to your brother! The couple must be really excited.
I don't get the sense of grand weddings though. For me, a wedding is an intimate and private affair. It doesn't need a grand preparation that involves too many guests and media coverage. A simple one is enough, the couple and the people that they love are there...

Can you post the wedding stationery design they have used?
