What To Do When Your Car Conks Out

Don't panic and overreact. Try to keep your cool by breathing deeply, or counting one to 10.

Turn on your hazard lights and carefully move your car to the side of the road, away from the traffic.

Get out of the car, preferably from the passenger side. Assess the situation and condition of your car. Take a look around, and find landmarks and street signs that can help locate where you are.

Make an emergency call with your cellphone. Note: Always have your phone fully charged when leaving your house or office. Keep local emergency numbers such MMDA hotline 136 in your phone directory, or better, in speed dial.

If everything else fails, take a walk but not until you've locked all your car doors. Ask assistance from a police officer or traffic aide posted nearby.

Nice tips. They would really come in handy. Sadly I don't even have my own car yet. :( I wonder when can I ever get one...
